Your Support Matters
Want to help make refugees in Chicago feel more welcome? The World Refugee Day Chicago Committee hopes to produce another successful event in June 2025. We can only do this with your help.
Since 2002, World Refugee Day Chicago (WRD) has commemorated World Refugee Day by organizing events, workshops, street parades, downtown rallies, guest speakers, as well as diverse multicultural performances by members of the Chicago refugee community. WRD Chicago is organized by refugee advocates and refugees, representatives from resettlement agencies, mutual aid and non-profit organizations as well as a wide range of community volunteers, all working together with the goal of creating joyful, engaging events that celebrate refugees and illustrate that we are all one human family.
We ask that you kindly offer your support through a financial contribution. As this event is solely volunteer-run, your support is crucial in continuing this historic collaboration of welcoming and celebrating the resilience, beauty, and diversity of migrants, especially as the US political climate embraces hostility and global crises displacing people seems unabated. A financial contribution will enable committee members to continue raising awareness, offer true community connection, and demonstrate unity for the local refugee community in Chicago.
