Advocacy Event Tuesday, June 18, 2024 12:00 - 1:00pm Daley Plaza at 50 W. Washington FREE EVENT to showcase World Refugee Day advocacy to the broader Chicago community. The purpose of this hour-long program downtown is to educate the community and passersby on refugee topics, trends, and issues. Featuring a performance by Angel Salas Speakers: Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth, Alderperson of the 48th Ward Ekram Hanna, Director of Development, Middle Eastern Immigrant and Refugee Alliance (MIRA) Dr. Joel E. Savoy, Psy.D. Bureau Chief, Bureau of Refugee and Immigrant Services Illinois Refugee Coordinator Johannes Favi, Deputy Director, Illinois Community for Displaced Immigrants (ICDI) Including a proclamation by the Office of the Mayor |
