World Refugee Day 2023
Community Celebration Saturday, June 24, 2023 9:00am - 4:00pm Foster Beach Park at 5200 N. Lake Shore Drive FREE EVENT including complimentary picnic lunch, dance and music performances, soccer tournament, kids' activities, giveaways, and more. This program is partially supported by a grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events (DCASE). 9am Soccer Tournament and Kids' activities begin, Opening Remarks 10am Performances by Tzu-Tsen Wu, Tanya Sigidin, Mandala Arts and Dance Peace, and Abdullah Zaheri 12pm Picnic (complimentary lunch), Refugee Solidarity Rally, DJ Kiran 1pm Performances by Samir Al-Omar, Angel David Salas Marcano, Ssebina Richard and Nabankema Mariam, Center of Peruvian Arts + Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council - Ballet Folklorico, and Hamid 3pm Soccer Tournament championship, Capoeira Circle with Beto deFreitas + Capoeira Angola 4pm Event finish |
