One Human Family Since 2002, World Refugee Day Chicago (WRD) has commemorated World Refugee Day by organizing events, workshops, conferences, lunches, street parades, downtown rallies, guest speakers, as well as diverse multicultural performances by members of the Chicago refugee community. WRD Chicago is organized by staff, volunteers, and refugee advocates and supporters from various organizations focused on welcoming and serving refugees. |

9am Event start, soccer tournament begins 10am Opening Remarks and kids' activities begin 10:30am Performances by Tanya Sigidin, Alireza Ebrahimi, Dance Peace, Tzu-Tsen Wu, Laksha Dantran, Tuvergen Band, and Abdullah Zaheri, and Uliana Poltavets 12pm Picnic (complimentary food), Refugee Solidarity March, DJ Kelvin Thywill, and performance by NAXÖ 1pm Juneteenth Drum & Dance Jam with Mosha Kangonge & Beyonce, Zenzile Fatou, and Maya Odim. 2pm Performances by the Peruvian Arts Dance Center, Angel David Salas Marcano, Rigo Saura, and Yara Daoud 4pm Event finish |
